On July 1, we invited students from Ashinaga, which we support as part of our CSR activities, to our Tamachi office. We held an exchange event between the Ashinaga students and our employees. For the students, it was a valuable opportunity to interact directly with working adults, and for us employees, it was a time to remind ourselves of the importance of supporting others. For FY25, we’ve recruited members to participate throughout the whole year. For the second half, we’re planning to hold a practical workshop to create an opportunity for students and employees to learn more from each other.

Key Lessons Learned and Insights Gained by Students
・After experiencing the “talking about the conclusion first” style of working adults, I became aware of the need to reconsider my own way of speaking.
・It made me realize again the challenges I face as an international student (such as improving my Japanese language skills) and am grateful for the diversity of the team.
・I realized the importance of networking through friendly interactions with the employees.
・I realized that changing jobs is an opportunity for career advancement and utilizing experience in different industries. This alleviated my anxiety about choosing a company.
・Specific advice on interviews and application forms was helpful and increased my motivation for job hunting.
The students have expressed that through conversations with working adults, they gained deeper understanding of themselves and of what it means to work and have expressed enthusiasm for actively participating in future events. We also received comments saying, “I was impressed by the kindness of NTT staff. They welcomed us very warmly!” This made us realize once again that we are engaged in CSR activities and social contributions under the NTT brand.

Feedback from Employees
・The students’ sincerity, attentive listening, and high level of awareness inspired me to reflect on my own attitude and commitment as a working member of society.
・I came to think that I wanted to encourage the students to express themselves rather than conform to corporate expectations.
・I developed a positive desire to be more proactive next time, rather than being passive.
・“I really want many employees to participate in this activity.” –Through discussions with young people, I realized that this is a valuable opportunity to reflect on oneself and gain new insights.

Continuous Involvement
After the event, many employees expressed positive feedback, saying they would like to take a more active role next time, and that they want to actively participate in the workshop in the second half of the year. We hope that everyone’s active participation will lead to even higher quality and depth in future activities.

Finally
The students’ high sense of awareness and straightforward attitude were filled with many of the fundamental principles that we tend to forget through the daily hustle-bustle. We intend to continue nurturing these opportunities for encounter and learning and contribute to society through our CSR activities.
